Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

Have you ever visited a beautiful place and felt as if you could spend hours and hours, just looking out at what you see. This was one such place. We (me and my hubby) just sat there looking out at this mesmerizing scene and could not get enough of it. The little red boat was an addition I put in, to make the artwork more eye catching. It was a pleasant day of summer, and the breeze blew through my hair as I watched the birds fly above the riverbank, may be looking for an appropriate tree top to build a nest. A pair of ducks followed each other through the slight current in the river water.

Being from a large metro city called Mumbai in India, I have always grown up looking at tall buildings, roads, large malls, highways, and bridges. In short, a concrete jungle. For me the wilderness, nature and its mesmerizing beauty is what captivates me. Being able to just sit silently by the riverbank and listen to the water flowing, the gentle breeze caressing my face and the sweet song of the birds chirping melodiously in the trees, is what I call sheer divinity.

I created this artwork in oils in order to get the textures and the feel right. I would love my viewers to enjoy the artwork and feel the urge to go visit these beautiful and mesmerizing places that are usually in the vicinity of where one stay.

The artwork shows the hay bales in the rural part of North America. The artwork shows the Sill branch Falls area in Tennessee. Lots of rocks with a small pool created by the water from the fall. A deer is seen taking a drink of this refreshing water. The artwork is a recreation of the famous mural - The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci. A 36 inch by 24-inch acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas, with a double coat of Gamvar Gloss varnish. I have converted the original mural to a stained-glass window style, that is why an arch is visible at the top corners of the artwork. It shows the arch of the stained-glass window. Paints used are Liquidex basic acrylic paints. The image in the artwork is of a stained-glass window showing the Virgin Mary holding Baby Jesus. This specific stained-glass window is at the Catholic Basilica of St. Lawrence in Asheville North Carolina USA. It has been created to mimic the actual window in the Basilica.
