Artwork Description

Is an acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas artwork of dimensions 24" by 36" Having always been fascinated by the huge stained-glass windows in European churches, I have loved to paint them on canvas. This particular stained-glass window shows one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ - St. Peter.St. Peter was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ and one of the first leaders of the early Christian Church. He was originally known as Simon and was a fisherman by trade. Jesus called Peter and his brother Andrew, James, and John to leave everything behind to become His followers. Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men”

St. Peter is recognized in the early Christian church as the leader of the 12 disciples. St. Peter is often depicted holding keys in his hands. The keys of heaven or keys of Saint Peter are seen as a symbol of papal authority and are seen on papal coats of arms (those of individual popes) and those of the Holy See and Vatican City State.

I would love my viewers to enjoy this artwork and want to go see these beautiful stained-glass windows.

Artist Bio

Ritina is a visual fine artist, working in acrylics and oils, currently residing in Tennessee U.S.A. She was born in London and spent her childhood there.
During her formative years, she engaged in a great deal of painting techniques, like fabric painting, art on pottery, and wooden surfaces. She has always enjoyed creating beautiful landscapes, but at the same time she loved to create figures from Indian mythology.
A self-taught artist, who enjoys experimenting with different colors, hues and textures, Ritina’s art is full of bold and vibrant colors. She likes to bring those colors to life in her paintings and enjoys using various surfaces, mediums and textures for painting. She is always keen to try out something new. Her substrate could be anything from canvas, fabric, to wood or earthenware, basically anything that can hold the paint.
Landscapes being her favorite subject to paint, she still prefers to be a versatile artist, and paints whatever she finds aesthetically beautiful. Her artworks are usually in bold and bright colors, and she relishes incorporating the most minuscule of details into each piece.
