Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

My favourite activity when a child was to ride my bike (when I wasn’t reading). My dad was Howard Webb, the 1950 125 mile Australasian long distance champion and he was a bike mechanic before becoming a nurse, so I never lacked bikes to ride. I never inherited his talent though, I was always last in races but enjoyed the freedom to get out and about the neighbourhood as he did. Anyhow I have been inspired to paint a bike scene and I might paint more to honour his memory and others who like to ride bikes.
