I’ve been gobsmacked by the happenings from the Top End, now running down to Kati Thanda. Not just the scale but the changes to the Landscape of the Continent. From drought to overflow. Feeding the country, greening the Land. The proliferation of bird life, marine creatures long dormant….matched by the multitude of colours changing the red dirt. Filling the Great Artesian Basin. So, I decided to make a mark. Printed up a coupla photos of the multitude of waterways. In black and white. Looked at them, closed my eyes, put them aside. Began. Watercolour crayons first, followed by inks and acrylic. All water based, which is totally appropriate. The result is like any of my landscapes. Flawed. BUT. The image demanded to be made. This is a Quadriptych. Four panels. Total size 102cm X 81cm.
P.S…..I think this piece is wunnerful !
