Artwork Description

I seem to be preoccupied with FIRE. It keeps crossing my mind. I live in Castlemaine in Victoria and the small town just a few kilometres from here, lost 50+ structures in a bushfire six weeks back. Houses, sheds, cool stores, fencing, stock and produce. Not to mention photos, memories plus love letters. So, in my mind, I walked the Harcourt fireground and strangely enough I found a book. Rescued from the ashes, full of Landscape paintings. The damage to the pages wasn’t done by the fire or the ash. But, by the tears of the unknown artist.
