Recovered in 1858 by the Second Expedition searching for Ludwig Leichhardt, this piece titled : A Panoramic view of The Ranges in Four Parts. Completed by one of his Ticket of Leave companions, Rob or Ron Holden ( name partly obscured). The work, clumsy by modern standards, however gives a unique insight into the Australian Continent at the time. The bloodstains are courtesy of the Conservator at the National Gallery. Knives, like wit can be sharp or dull !!!!
