Exploring painting with energy and movement while I activated my two hot pressed watercolour sheets with watercolour crayon markings followed by a few intuitively painted layers. Being very free and easy with the application of water as I went.
Working on both, simultaneously, adding a little white here and there followed by the subtle addition of crimson acrylic ink markings.
At the time I was not sure what was to come next but I knew that I wanted to keep them raw and organic.
My mind couldn't settle which was reflecting in what I was creating. The words chaos and chaotic kept popping into my mind.
After countless intuitive layers I pondered what to do next.......some crazy, wild, ad hoc changes brought this pair back to where I felt they needed to be. The addition of markings in white, lime green and a orangey pink completed this passionate duo.
When I stop to look at them I feel their pulsating essence. They feel like they are alive.
These two energetic paintings are cohesive in their colour palette, design and mood therefore would look intriguing hung near each other but also work as standalone artworks in their own right.
I named this duo 'Chaos & Confusion' due to how I felt while painting them and the journey both pieces took while they were being created.
Both are 56 (W) x 76 (H) cm and signed on the bottom lefthand corner.
As they require framing my artwork photos include pictures of how this pair could look framed and hung.
