I was delving into exercises into mini abstract compositions on small pieces of paper when my mind moved on to the idea of creating 9 mini abstracts, in a grid format, on one large piece of paper.
I took a layered intuitive approach of applying paint, ink, sgraffito, collage pieces (torn brown paper). During the layering process I also created many geometric shapes and markings, then continued to build my layers of markings, creating cohesion amongst the 9 pieces contained on the one page.
Kept my colour palette to sepia, yellow, orange, grey with accents of white, black & a pop of cherry red here and there.
I was rather fond of this creation once completed and hoped that a bluethumb art collector might be too.
This piece does require framing therefore my artwork photos do include examples of how 'Its Not Naughts & Crosses' could look framed and hung.
Please check dimensions, inset image for display purposes only and may not be to scale.
My work is organic therefore the dimensions of this painting does include a rough 1cm border which can be covered during your chosen framing method or be embraced and remain on view once framed.
