Original Artwork's Description

I am familiar with silhouette artworks which I believe generally tend to have a very crisp look. In this instance however, mine has a more organic look and feel which is more my style.

Layers of similar organic shapes in the intuitive base, followed by the imagery, firstly created by blind contour drawing then painted with sepia coloured acrylic ink and paint which has created a minimalistic look to this artwork.

Once I created my young kookaburra perching on his branch I added a little detail here and there followed by touch of a golden glaze, to finish this piece off.

Someone who appreciates simplicity would enjoy this silhouette style artwork along with its limited colour palette.

Framing required for Kookaburra Chick to hang therefore my artwork photos include examples of how this piece could look framed and hung.

As always, please check dimensions as insitu images for display purposes only and may not be to scale.

Artist Bio

Rosemary’s artistic journey is a delightful adventure that showcases the power of creativity. From a young age, she found joy in artistic pursuits, but it wasn’t until her retirement, amid the quiet of countless cover lockdowns, that she truly reconnected with her passion for art.

With an eclectic style that celebrates whimsy, Rosemary’s paintings are a vibrant reflection of her playful spirit. Rather than sticking to a rigid plan, she lets her creativity flow, allowing each piece to reveal itself organically. As she layers colors and textures, her work takes on a life of its own, resulting in captivating pieces that invite viewers into her imaginative world.

Originally working solely with acrylics on canvas, Rosemary has since embraced an exciting variety of materials. Now, her mixed media artworks bring together paint, ink, soft pastels, oil sticks, and collage, transforming her creations into multidimensional expressions of her vision.

At the heart of Rosemary’s art is a simple yet powerful motivation: it makes her happy! The joy she feels while painting shines through in every piece she creates, and sharing that joy with others has ignited her passion even further. With numerous pieces sold and a growing audience, Rosemary is driven to continue creating and sharing her artwork, ensuring that her vibrant imagination remains a central part of her life for years to come.
