Artwork Description

On morning walks around our suburb I can see that spring buds are popping out everywhere, especially on the trees lining the streets. I thought with sadness that it would probably just take a day or two of Melbourne's inclement weather for the tree blossoms to start dropping quickly from the trees.

I had been working on two layered intuitive bases off and on over the last few days and had thoughts of creating a abstract flower diptych. Not for the two pieces to actually make a single scene, but two standalone pieces that are linked through visual

Thoughts of spring showers , falling blossoms flooded my imagination. I started to play with applying paint in different ways on my intuitive bases, adding different hues of pink, scratching into the paint to form naive flowers. Kept adding and layering my flowers on both pieces. Warming glaze followed on by bringing further white interests back to both pieces in the form of dribbles, accents, shadows, markings etc. Both pieces evolving and developing in front of my eyes to narrate my imagination visually to those that take a moment to take a peek or even longer.

I think these moody, but warm and playful pieces would look delightful hung side by side or hung separately in different spaces or areas.

Dimensions: Both are 56cm (W) x 76cm (H) = total 112cm (W) x 76cm (H)

My work is organic therefore the dimensions of these paintings do include a rough .05 cm rough border which can be covered during your chosen framing method or be embraced and remain on show after framing.

They both require framing however my artwork photos include pictures of how this pair could look framed and hung.

Please check dimensions, in situ images for display purposes only and may not be to scale.
