Artwork Description

An original oil over acrylic on canvas painting.
This artwork is a part of the series of paintings dedicated to Homer’s “The Iliad” and “The Odyssey”. Inspired by Cy Twombly’s “Fifty Days at Iliam” and works by Cy Twombly in the Philadelphia Art Museum. Heavy impasto is built with brushes and pallet knives.
The master-quality material has been used. Using oil over acrylic technique allows achieving the brightness of colors and richness of texture. Edges of the painting are covered with archival white linen tape for a clean contemporary look. No need for framing. It is ready to hang. Signed on the front.
A Certificate of Authenticity is included.

Artist Bio

Ruslan Khais is a Philadelphia-based artist working predominantly in the genre of Abstract Landscape.

A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Khais has participated in numerous group shows and solo exhibitions. He's also received awards from the Philadelphia Sketch Club, PAFA Alumni Association, Berks County Art Alliance, Berman Museum, the Vermont Studio Center, and others. His work is also held in several corporate and private collections.
