Original oil on canvas small impressionist landscape painting stretched on a wooden frame. Plain air painting started earlier on plain air in the fall and was completed in the studio. Trees and river in autumnal foliage. Earth palette. Impasto.
The master-quality material has been used. Heavy impasto builds with brushes and pallet knives. This technique allows for achieving a very interesting effect of simplicity, lightness, and air. Edges of the painting are covered with archival white linen tape for a clean contemporary look. No need for framing. It is ready to hang. Signed on the front.

Ruslan Khais is a Philadelphia-based artist working predominantly in the genre of Abstract Landscape.
Not restricting himself to a single style, Khais freely moves into more representational or purely abstract works that, at times, merge into Surrealism. The French Impressionists and artists of the Hudson River School are his main influences and inspiration.
A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Khais has participated in numerous group shows and solo exhibitions. He's also received awards from the Philadelphia Sketch Club, PAFA Alumni Association, Berks County Art Alliance, Berman Museum, the Vermont Studio Center, and others. His work is also held in several corporate and private collections.
