This vibrant painting featuring one of my signature cockatoos, was painted after a recent family picnic at The Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney. It's my favourite spot and last visit all the gum blossoms were in full bloom and literally crawling with bees doing their important work. I have been exploring the use of a background wash for my works on paper recently, and this blush pink looks sublime with the blue/greys featured in the body of the painting.
