Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
This contemporary watercolour painting features a Blue Faced Honey Eater, the first one of it's kind I've painted. I'm always on the look out for new Australian birds to paint and this striking tweetie is my latest discovery. My intention with this painting is to keep the work in the spirit of a sketch, using bold expressive lines in order to communicate a sense of flow and movement within a two dimensional piece.
The Banksia is drawn from life β a sprig I community pruned from one of the factories at the end of my street.
