Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
This bright watercolour painting features some of my stylised Native botanicals including King Proteas, Pink peppercorn, and Geraldton Wax Flowers.
Sometimes I feel like painting flowers from life and other times - as with this painting, I like to remove much of the form and focus on the simplicity of shape and composition only. This requires studying my specimens and drawing from life, then putting the reference out of sight and using memory and a sprinkling of artist's license to create my stylised loose flower paintings.
