Original oil painting on a thick profile timber panel, in a soft colour palette that includes powder blue, soft apricot, deep Prussian, emerald green and ochre hues. This work is inspired by Camellia bushes that drop their delicate frilly flowers all over the footpaths in my local area in the winter months. I am painting intuitively here, meaning I have no fixed plans when I start, but am rather more interested in expressive, painterly marks and allowing myself to enter a flow state and be lead by the painting.
