My work is very much connected to the place I live and features the backyard birds and plants common in my inner city neighbourhood. This large vibrant watercolour features a pair of Superb fairy wrens perched on some Kalanchoe – a succulent that grows like a weed in the industrial land near my home. I like the grey/green colour of the leaves of this particular plant and collect it from the roadside in the winter when it's flowering to use in my still life paintings. **The protective copyright watermark is on the digital file only.
