I'm really into painting these simplified still lifes at the moment that focus on colour, line and shape. This one features a pair of gorgeous plump red Waratahs sitting in a black tribal vase with some native greenery (well, in this instance blue-ery). There is just a subtle watery shadow at the base of the vase.
