Drawing is at the heart of everything I do. I use expressive line in varied weights in my paintings to evoke a sense of immediacy and lyricism within the work. My intention is to keep the painting in the spirit of a sketch, to capture the fleeting nature of my subject.

Cockatoos feature heavily in my work, they are such characters. This cheeky fellow with a quaffed bouffant and fluffy face is taking a rest on a gum tree before his next instalment of mischief.
