This piece was inspired by a group of male dancers I saw rehearsing at the Water Palace in Yogyakarta. I was captivated by their elegance and deep concentration.
The portrait was drawn with one continuous line. His clothing is a collage of paintings I did derived from the patterns seen in traditional Indonesian textiles. The painting has been finished with free poured resin to give the effect of water.
