I have always had a fondness for making and collecting candles. This painting depicts a few candles from my collection including a candlestick holder I bought while I was in Ukraine and a limited edition Glasshouse magic spell candle. I have a tendency to be mesmerised by the flicking flame and love looking at the shifts of colours, from warm to cold, caused by the fire.
