Original Artwork's Description

Amid a lush, vibrant canopy of tropical foliage, two parrots sit closely on a sturdy branch — one vibrant and bold, the other nestled beside it in quiet presence. The scene overflows with life: layered greens, bursts of crimson and gold, and movement that echoes the rhythms of the jungle. Yet at the heart of this vivid world is a moment of stillness — a bond, a story, a tribute.

This painting is an homage to the unseen strength of mothers — those who offer safety and shelter, who teach without words, and who gently prepare us to take flight. The elder bird, perhaps a mother, radiates steadiness; the younger, readiness. Together, they embody the timeless cycle of nurturing and release.

“To the Mother Who Gave Her Wings” speaks not only of biological motherhood, but of every guiding figure who empowers another to grow, to rise, and to fly — even if it means letting go.

Artist Bio

SeEun works in the picturesque Dandenong Ranges, drawing much of her inspiration from the region’s stunning trees and natural surroundings. Her artwork evolves with the seasons. In summer, she finds herself inspired by seascapes. While in spring, her focus shifts towards the vibrant beauty of blooming flowers. As an abstract artist, SeEun specialises in creating cheerful designs that perfectly complement modern interior decor. While her preferred medium is acrylic paint, she also enjoys experimenting with watercolor.

SeEun was born in South Korea, and on a holiday to Australia fell in love with its landscapes and people. She was also inspired by her uncle, a famous artist in Korea. She is still very proud of her Korean heritage and its long history, often introducing elements of her culture into her artwork to draw attention to the struggles and resilience of the Korean people.
