Sharon Rynehart is an impressionist palette knife artist recognised for her flowing, expressive style of the sea, land and sky. An Interior Designer and Colour Consultant now turned Artist after health issues in 2018, she adores the word 'heartwork' (apart from the slight reference to her surname) it describes her process perfectly. She uses her background in colour theory to create beautiful colour harmonies, painting emotive artworks from the heart that allow you to reflect on your own story; to finish the train of thought, to remember a time or place, and to explore and feel the emotions they instil. Artworks that are relatable, that invite you to reflect, force an exhale, evoke a sense of calm…and bring you hope.

Living on the leafy outskirts of Canberra with views to the Brindabella ranges, and a protected nature reserve close by, Sharon is constantly inspired by trees and mountain ranges, beautiful sunsets, and cloud formations. However, the coast is her absolute passion. With the NSW South Coast not far down the road, influences emerge from the refracted light through moody clouds and ocean waters, from lush headlands and breezy shorelines, and from the scenic roads, hills and valleys she travels through to and from.

These road trips to the coast, and back to her childhood hometown of Wagga Wagga, are also a huge inspiration for her sought after roadscapes, often with her signature pink road. Also highly sought after, her figurative beachscapes that capture quiet moments alone, or with loved ones on the sand.

Now widely collected both in Australia and internationally, she’s enjoyed recent success as a Finalist in Art to Art’s “Unearthed” Art Prize 2025. She’s also been fortunate to have several of her artworks featured on Channel 9’s The Block in 2024, and had her work featured in Grand Designs Australia Magazine. Sharon has gallery representation in Brisbane, a retail stockist in Melbourne and considers it an absolute privilege to have her work sought after and consistently sell.

Still living with chronic pain, Sharon makes a conscious decision daily to seek light, pursue peace, and find joy. Her emotive artworks are a reminder to always look for light and hope, no matter the trials and challenges we all face.
