Artwork Description

"Just breathe", "inhale exhale", "breathe in 2 3 4 breathe out 2 3 4" are all common phrases we've heard - or we tell ourselves - when in the midst of anxiety, pain, or a difficult moment. It can be a constant in a long difficult season, or a fleeting reminder amidst the chaos and frustration of everyday life.

Do you have those 'hold your breath' moments?

Some days are full of them, and other times it feels like we've been holding one giant breath for the longest time - and we've forgotten how to exhale. The coast and these colours force me to exhale. I can be stressed, anxious, feeling lost without hope, but as soon as I see beach, or ocean, or the coastline - I'm breathing again. So too does painting it. It brings healing, thankfulness, renewal, and hope, just like the coast in reality. Here - whether I'm physically on the coastline taking in this view, or bringing it to life on a canvas - I can breathe again.

This expressive and beautifully colourful seascape has been painted with palette knives on 500 gsm stretched linen, and is framed in a solid oak timber frame. It has been satin varnished and will come with a COA.

Thank you for stopping to view "Here I am Breathing Again". I hope it inspires and encourages you to be able to do that too.

NB: While every effort is made to capture the true colours and details of my artwork, every screen is different and art viewed online does not do my work justice. Slight differences may be evident between a screen image and the true tone and textures of my work, which is more vivid and beautiful in reality. Scale may also be slightly off due to the insitu art app used, so please ensure you measure your space.

Artist Bio

“…painting stories evoking light and hope.”

Sharon Rynehart is an impressionist palette knife artist widely recognised for her flowing, expressive style of the sea, land and sky. A former Interior Designer and Colour Consultant, Sharon had health issues a while ago that saw her turn to painting for therapy and healing. Transforming her creative practice into what she now calls ‘heartwork’; emotive, hope-fuelled pieces inspired by faith, connective memory and experience, and the beauty of our Australian coastlines and landscapes. Sharon uses her background in colour theory to create original artworks with beautiful colour harmonies that allow you to reflect on your own story; to finish the train of thought, to remember a time or place, and to explore and feel the emotions they instill. Artworks that are relatable, that invite you to reflect, force an exhale, evoke a sense of calm…and bring you hope.

Sharon enjoyed recent success as a Finalist in Art to Art’s acclaimed “Unearthed” Art Prize, and has been fortunate to have several of her artworks featured on Channel 9’s “The Block” TV show. She has also had pieces featured in Grand Designs Australia Magazine.
