Life often feels as if we're being tossed about like a wave in the ocean; tempest seas crashing against rocky shorelines representing the struggles and trials we all often face. You barely recover from one wave when you see another coming...and all you can do is hold on, take a breath and let it crash over you.
I'm reminded though that as much as the ocean is a tempest metaphor, it's also a calming and healing one. There's something so assuring about the coast, especially at first light or dusk. The warmth of the first or last sun that casts light across the foreboding sea, like a giant hug. It becomes a place to calm and quieten your senses, a place in which to let go, exhale, reflect, ponder...a place of renewal. More so, I always find hope at the coast...fresh hope for a new tomorrow.
This large expressive seascape is created with palette knives on artist quality stretched cotton canvas. It is framed in solid tas oak (although if you'd prefer to purchase unframed please contact me to reduce price to $800 before purchasing). It is satin varnished, and will come with a COA.
