In Need of Alone Time

We all need some alone time now and again. After difficult seasons and through painful struggles if you're anything like me you tend to crave it even more. I need space to reflect and ponder my thoughts and beliefs...to find hope again when there doesn't seem to be any.

There's nowhere I do this better than the coast.

Here, at a quiet lookout, or empty shoreline, watching clouds sweep across the sky and waves breaking against rocky and sandy coastlines, here, breathing in the salty air and exhaling the worries and frustrations...I look for and find that hope again. I may be alone, but I'm not lonely. This is my happy place. My sanctuary. My saving grace.

This emotive little figurescape has been created with palette knives on 12 oz stretched poly cotton canvas and has been framed in a solid oak timber frame. It is satin varnished and comes with a COA.

Sharon Rynehart is an impressionist palette knife artist widely recognised for her flowing, expressive style of the sea, land and sky. A former Interior Designer and Colour Consultant, Sharon had health issues a while ago that saw her turn to painting for therapy and healing. Transforming her creative practice into what she now calls ‘heartwork’; emotive, hope-fuelled pieces inspired by faith, connective memory and experience, and the beauty of our Australian coastlines and landscapes. Sharon uses her background in colour theory to create original artworks with beautiful colour harmonies that allow you to reflect on your own story; to finish the train of thought, to remember a time or place, and to explore and feel the emotions they instill. Artworks that are relatable, that invite you to reflect, force an exhale, evoke a sense of calm…and bring you hope.

Sharon enjoyed recent success as a Finalist in Art to Art’s acclaimed “Unearthed” Art Prize, and has been fortunate to have several of her artworks featured on Channel 9’s “The Block” TV show. She has also had pieces featured in Grand Designs Australia Magazine. Sharon has gallery representation in both Brisbane and Melbourne and apart from these galleries, her works can be viewed in person tri-annually at the Affordable Art Fairs in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Now widely collected both in Australia and Internationally, Sharon’s pieces continue to resonate with many, inspiring calm and connection through an uplifting sense of place and emotion. They are a reminder to always look for light and hope…no matter the trials and challenges we all face.
