Late Afternoons Like These (Framed)

Late afternoons at the coast are a special time for our family. We've usually been at the beach earlier that morning basking in warm aqua waters and soaking up the sun's rays, but we often head home by lunch...we're tired and we need a break from the sun and surf! But as late afternoon descends we're usually back there. It's a different vibe. It's quieter, the breeze has picked up, and there's a few stragglers like us, wandering the shoreline, and watching sailboats off the shoreline heading home on a southerly. I love late afternoons like these...they bring contentment and peace and an opportunity to lift my gaze skyward and thank the heavens for my family, and another beautiful day at the coast.

Sharon Rynehart is an impressionist palette knife artist widely recognised for her flowing, expressive style of the sea, land and sky. A former Interior Designer and Colour Consultant, Sharon had health issues a while ago that saw her turn to painting for therapy and healing. Transforming her creative practice into what she now calls ‘heartwork’; emotive, hope-fuelled pieces inspired by faith, connective memory and experience, and the beauty of our Australian coastlines and landscapes. Sharon uses her background in colour theory to create original artworks with beautiful colour harmonies that allow you to reflect on your own story; to finish the train of thought, to remember a time or place, and to explore and feel the emotions they instill. Artworks that are relatable, that invite you to reflect, force an exhale, evoke a sense of calm…and bring you hope.

Sharon enjoyed recent success as a Finalist in Art to Art’s acclaimed “Unearthed” Art Prize, and has been fortunate to have several of her artworks featured on Channel 9’s “The Block” TV show. She has also had pieces featured in Grand Designs Australia Magazine. Sharon has gallery representation in both Brisbane and Melbourne and apart from these galleries, her works can be viewed in person tri-annually at the Affordable Art Fairs in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Now widely collected both in Australia and Internationally, Sharon’s pieces continue to resonate with many, inspiring calm and connection through an uplifting sense of place and emotion. They are a reminder to always look for light and hope…no matter the trials and challenges we all face.
