Artwork Description

Ruby is my birthstone and therefore I have a couple of these gorgeous gems...only because years ago I also worked in the jewellery industry! Rubies in their natural raw state inspired this alcohol ink piece. Did you know some rare rubies are more valuable than the rarest diamonds? Their colours range from near colourless to translucent pink through all shades of pink and crimson to the most vibrant cardinal reds. Think I captured all of these colours in this stunning statement one off piece!

I've carried the ink to the edges so it can be framed back with a mat mount to any composition you like. And I really can't decide which way I love it most...it can hang any of 4 ways! Therefore I've discreetly signed it to allow you any option.

Varnished and UV Protected. Ready for your own framing.

NB: Framed image only shown as a suggested option for framing.

Thanks for looking!

Artist Bio

“…painting stories evoking light and hope.”

Sharon Rynehart is an impressionist palette knife artist widely recognised for her flowing, expressive style of the sea, land and sky. A former Interior Designer and Colour Consultant, Sharon had health issues a while ago that saw her turn to painting for therapy and healing. Transforming her creative practice into what she now calls ‘heartwork’; emotive, hope-fuelled pieces inspired by faith, connective memory and experience, and the beauty of our Australian coastlines and landscapes. Sharon uses her background in colour theory to create original artworks with beautiful colour harmonies that allow you to reflect on your own story; to finish the train of thought, to remember a time or place, and to explore and feel the emotions they instill. Artworks that are relatable, that invite you to reflect, force an exhale, evoke a sense of calm…and bring you hope.

Sharon enjoyed recent success as a Finalist in Art to Art’s acclaimed “Unearthed” Art Prize, and has been fortunate to have several of her artworks featured on Channel 9’s “The Block” TV show. She has also had pieces featured in Grand Designs Australia Magazine. Sharon has gallery representation in both Brisbane and Melbourne and apart from these galleries, her works can be viewed in person tri-annually at the Affordable Art Fairs in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Now widely collected both in Australia and Internationally, Sharon’s pieces continue to resonate with many, inspiring calm and connection through an uplifting sense of place and emotion. They are a reminder to always look for light and hope…no matter the trials and challenges we all face.
