The Road To Light

We’ve all heard the phrase ‘life’s a journey’ and indeed it is. Some detours have us suddenly way off track, and other roads are short cuts at just right the time. We can encounter frustrating dead ends at times, and then other times the roads are long and drawn out and seemingly will never to come to an end. But where are we going? What is your destination? We don’t defeat life. It happens. Every day. All we can do is make the most of each detour and dead end and long road and pray that we’re kept safe and loved along the way.

For me that means my faith. It's what propels me along each road I take. The destination for me is the light of heaven and eternity. The road to light might be long and weary and painful and unknown...but the destination one day will make every road taken along life's journey here worth all the while.

Sharon Rynehart is an impressionist palette knife artist widely recognised for her flowing, expressive style of the sea, land and sky. A former Interior Designer and Colour Consultant, Sharon had health issues a while ago that saw her turn to painting for therapy and healing. Transforming her creative practice into what she now calls ‘heartwork’; emotive, hope-fuelled pieces inspired by faith, connective memory and experience, and the beauty of our Australian coastlines and landscapes. Sharon uses her background in colour theory to create original artworks with beautiful colour harmonies that allow you to reflect on your own story; to finish the train of thought, to remember a time or place, and to explore and feel the emotions they instill. Artworks that are relatable, that invite you to reflect, force an exhale, evoke a sense of calm…and bring you hope.

Sharon enjoyed recent success as a Finalist in Art to Art’s acclaimed “Unearthed” Art Prize, and has been fortunate to have several of her artworks featured on Channel 9’s “The Block” TV show. She has also had pieces featured in Grand Designs Australia Magazine. Sharon has gallery representation in both Brisbane and Melbourne and apart from these galleries, her works can be viewed in person tri-annually at the Affordable Art Fairs in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Now widely collected both in Australia and Internationally, Sharon’s pieces continue to resonate with many, inspiring calm and connection through an uplifting sense of place and emotion. They are a reminder to always look for light and hope…no matter the trials and challenges we all face.
