The Story It Tells

A road tells so many stories. Who has travelled it? What was their destination? Under what circumstances? Are they road trips to the coast, business trips to a city, or home-town trips for family events? 

I myself love road trips through beautiful and picturesque countryside pondering the many journeys that have taken place through the same hills and valleys...so many different people, all at different times and through different seasons. Evoking quiet contentment and reflective moments, this palette knife roadscape in gentle soft tones has me pausing to  wonder what story this road would tell. The beauty of it - it can be any story you want it to be.

Created with a neutral soft palette on 12 oz stretched cotton, it is framed in a beautiful solid oak timber frame. It comes satin varnished and with a COA.

“…painting stories evoking light and hope.”

Sharon Rynehart is an impressionist palette knife artist widely recognised for her flowing, expressive style of the sea, land and sky. A former Interior Designer and Colour Consultant, Sharon had health issues a while ago that saw her turn to painting for therapy and healing. Transforming her creative practice into what she now calls ‘heartwork’; emotive, hope-fuelled pieces inspired by faith, connective memory and experience, and the beauty of our Australian coastlines and landscapes. Sharon uses her background in colour theory to create original artworks with beautiful colour harmonies that allow you to reflect on your own story; to finish the train of thought, to remember a time or place, and to explore and feel the emotions they instill. Artworks that are relatable, that invite you to reflect, force an exhale, evoke a sense of calm…and bring you hope.

Sharon enjoyed recent success as a Finalist in Art to Art’s acclaimed “Unearthed” Art Prize, and has been fortunate to have several of her artworks featured on Channel 9’s “The Block” TV show. She has also had pieces featured in Grand Designs Australia Magazine. Sharon has gallery representation in both Brisbane and Melbourne and apart from these galleries, her works can be viewed in person tri-annually at the Affordable Art Fairs in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Now widely collected both in Australia and Internationally, Sharon’s pieces continue to resonate with many, inspiring calm and connection through an uplifting sense of place and emotion. They are a reminder to always look for light and hope…no matter the trials and challenges we all face.
