Under a sinking sun...is where memories are made. This pretty little landscape takes me back to so many different times and places, both here in Australia and abroad! So many memories resurfaced all at once: traipsing home through hilly dunes after a long day at the beach; camping and exploring lush nature reserves ; an amazing sky witnessed on a farmstay holiday; and even whizzing past picturesque scenery on a sunset drive through Tuscany. Somehow there's a little bit of all of those in this artwork. What does it evoke for you? Whatever it is, I hope it reminds you of the beauty to be found and the warmth to be felt when you're under a sinking sun.

Created with palette knives on stretched 450 gsm polycotton canvas, this pretty little artwork has soft shimmering gold accents that comes to life when it catches the light. It's the perfect shelfie to sit as a decor piece, or is wired and ready to hang on a wall space.

It is framed in a solid Tas Oak timber frame, is satin varnished, and comes with a COA.

Sharon Rynehart is an impressionist palette knife artist widely recognised for her flowing, expressive style of the sea, land and sky. A former Interior Designer and Colour Consultant, Sharon had health issues a while ago that saw her turn to painting for therapy and healing. Transforming her creative practice into what she now calls ‘heartwork’; emotive, hope-fuelled pieces inspired by faith, connective memory and experience, and the beauty of our Australian coastlines and landscapes. Sharon uses her background in colour theory to create original artworks with beautiful colour harmonies that allow you to reflect on your own story; to finish the train of thought, to remember a time or place, and to explore and feel the emotions they instill. Artworks that are relatable, that invite you to reflect, force an exhale, evoke a sense of calm…and bring you hope.

Sharon enjoyed recent success as a Finalist in Art to Art’s acclaimed “Unearthed” Art Prize, and has been fortunate to have several of her artworks featured on Channel 9’s “The Block” TV show. She has also had pieces featured in Grand Designs Australia Magazine. Sharon has gallery representation in both Brisbane and Melbourne and apart from these galleries, her works can be viewed in person tri-annually at the Affordable Art Fairs in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Now widely collected both in Australia and Internationally, Sharon’s pieces continue to resonate with many, inspiring calm and connection through an uplifting sense of place and emotion. They are a reminder to always look for light and hope…no matter the trials and challenges we all face.
