Artwork Description

The water in Stockton Lake is the most amazing blue due to the high acidity levels, as it's an old, unused open-cute mine. The area is now a very popular camping spot with locals and I couldn't resist stopping for a quick paint.

Stockton Lake Reflections is painted on a plein air panel and is therefore not frame. This painting will require framing if you wish to hang it.

Artist Bio

I have always felt the need to create and as an artist, I strive to convey the emotion and feeling I get from a particular subject. I feel my art is often a visual attempt at recording my memories of places, faces, sights and the world around me. I like to work from life as much as possible.
I have developed a strong interest in drawing since a young age. Mainly self taught until the early 1990's, I completed three years of private study with respected WA artist, Trish Austin, as well as numerous workshops and life drawing classes. As child rearing, family and work pressures permitted, I also managed to complete a Certificate IV in Fine Art and Contemporary Design.
I paint from my home studio and also paint plein air with a great group of painters at least weekly and more often if possible and have been involved in a number of plein air events including the Quick Draw as part of the Lester Prize and the Plein Air Down Under event held in Mandurah..
I have a number of works in private collections and have exhibited in numerous exhibitions and competitions, where I have been very fortunate to win several awards.
