Sunflowers

Finally got the chance to paint these gorgeous sunflowers. I walk past this garden all the time and always enjoy the view of the bright golden sunflowers in front of a line of terracotta rooftops and chimneys at this time of the year. When the sunflower seeds are nearly ripe, a gang of cockatoos will descend and have a feast before the owner can harvest. The owner doesn’t seem to mind and keep growing the sunflowers year after year. It delights him just to watch the neighbours enjoying the flowers and the birds enjoying the seeds. And of course this year someone is painting the golden ray of sunlight he sows for everyone :) What a wonderful start for the holiday season! Merry Xmas everyone!
