About a ten or so years ago, in conjunction with the travelling Archibald Prize, I was in an exhibition called Rewritten with two other reuse artists. We spoke to the change from book as print to ereader. Thirty thousand people went through, we sold out, and I've been going ever since. Among my pieces were a few done in ink on an old Sydway and I haven't worked on one since. As a 1997 copy recently came my way, I've decided to do a small (probably 6 pieces) group of faces on these maps. These directories are on thin paper, not originally intended to be glued onto canvas and then marked with ink, but that's the glory of them. They don't look mass produced and they show signs of a previous life. Edges painted white, lightly sprayed with varnish for protection. Follow my page if you'd like to be notified as they become available.
