Taking vintage black and white photos from the 1930s to 1960s and trying to bring them up into this decade is my current body of work. This one had a special experiment. Instead of just painting the sand, I went down to our local beach, scooped up some of the real stuff, washed it and then applied it judiciously to the prepainted canvas. Yes there's even a bit on her lollipop! Sprayed lightly with varnish. Edges painted white.

Artist Statement
After 15 years of being in the business of a full time artist, I've decided to just paint for pleasure. I sincerely thank all of my customers, old and new, but before I put away the paints, I still have a number of quality vintage maps, postcards etc to reuse which I'll add here. However once they've been used up, I won't be sourcing more. There are still some great ideas brewing, waiting to be completed though!
