Parts of Perth

Hard to believe this 1963 map still has enough body in the paper and enough colour left to make it interesting. Perth Airport made the skirt, the river and waterways made obvious hair lines and I liked how there was even a suitable elbow length glove waiting for me to outline. This 60 yr old map has had a previous life and it shows. I like that. When you're 60, you'll have wrinkles and wear too 😉 Edges turned with map where possible, otherwise painted white. Suits a neutral background that needs a strong pop of colour.

Artist Statement
After painting as a full time artist for the past 15 years, I've decided to just leave some previous works available here as prints only. No originals. It is unfortunately no longer financially viable to try and sell original work on this site when my returns after two recent increases in commission from BT, increases in shipping, material costs etc mean my actual proceeds from a sale are quite small. Thanks to my collectors and followers these past years. I wish you all the very best.
