Perth Gold

It's easy to still find 1990s road maps, but scoring an original 1960s Perth one in such excellent condition feels like a real score for me. I love that maps have got signs of a previous life. If you were made in the 1960s, you'd have wrinkles too! My preference for maps and other vintage materials comes from a desire to get those things out of shoe boxes or file folders and let them shine in a new way. Edges painted white. Lightly sprayed with varnish for protection.

Artist Statement
After painting as a full time artist for the past 15 years, I've decided to just leave some previous works available here as prints only. No originals. It is unfortunately no longer financially viable to try and sell original work on this site when my returns after two recent increases in commission from BT, increases in shipping, material costs etc mean my actual proceeds from a sale are quite small. Thanks to my collectors and followers these past years. I wish you all the very best.
