Semco Stitchery

If you're interested in vintage embroidery, you'll recognise Semco as a long time supplier of craft kits. I think they started in 1915. This ephemera from Jeanette's Work Box (in Melbourne I think) dated from the 1960s and it deserved to come out of someone's files of 'stuff' and tell a story. Edges of canvas painted white. I haven't applied gloss or varnish to the unpainted paper.

Artist Statement
After painting as a full time artist for the past 15 years, I've decided to just leave some previous works available here as prints only. No originals. It is unfortunately no longer financially viable to try and sell original work on this site when my returns after two recent increases in commission from BT, increases in shipping, material costs etc mean my actual proceeds from a sale are quite small. Thanks to my collectors and followers these past years. I wish you all the very best.
