Still Looking for Alibrandi

I wanted this to be a full-on celebration of one of Australia's best selling authors- Melina Marchetta. Using the original 35mm movie trailer film plus a used copy of the book, I've tucked the title in where possible, along with titles of her other books. Using the film meant deciding how much paint was going to be used overtop to create a 3D effect but the flat 2D of the film won out. She's great - go get one of her books. Painted edges. Ready to hang or be sent to the framers if you so choose to be put under glass for protection.

Artist Statement
After painting as a full time artist for the past 15 years, I've decided to just leave some previous works available here as prints only. No originals. It is unfortunately no longer financially viable to try and sell original work on this site when my returns after two recent increases in commission from BT, increases in shipping, material costs etc mean my actual proceeds from a sale are quite small. Thanks to my collectors and followers these past years. I wish you all the very best.
