Summer in Port Lincoln

This map was a one - off find. In near mint condition for its age and it challenged me to find a way to find a suitable composition. I'd decided I wanted to paint around the existing compass to make it look like her beach ball, but that meant needing the pail to better balance the composition. No need to paint a modern figure on a vintage map, right? Edges painted white.

Artist Statement
After painting as a full time artist for the past 15 years, I've decided to just leave some previous works available here as prints only. No originals. It is unfortunately no longer financially viable to try and sell original work on this site when my returns after two recent increases in commission from BT, increases in shipping, material costs etc mean my actual proceeds from a sale are quite small. Thanks to my collectors and followers these past years. I wish you all the very best.
