Sydney Style

One of the last few paintings on vintage maps that I'm working on this year. This particular map is probably 1950s. Obviously it was never meant to be painted on, its purpose in its previous lifetime shows in the wrinkles and quirks that are part of the artwork. Where possible, I turn the map paper around the edges. Otherwise edges are painted white. The blue in the background is quite bold, as is her hairstyle. Artist Statement
After painting as a full time artist for the past 15 years, I've decided to just leave some previous works available here as prints only. No originals. It is unfortunately no longer financially viable to try and sell original work on this site when my returns after two recent increases in commission from BT, increases in shipping, material costs etc mean my actual proceeds from a sale are quite small. Thanks to my collectors and followers these past years. I wish you all the very best.
