Golden Lake

Golden Lake is the second painting in a series inspired by Prayers by the Lake by Saint Nikolai Velimirovich.
Painted in oil with layered surfaces and subtle gold pigment, the work reflects themes of stillness, light, and spiritual contemplation. The square format invites a quiet, meditative presence, while the gold elements evoke a sense of the sacred and the timeless.

Based in Brisbane, I am a painter working in oil, acrylic, and mixed media on canvas. After a two-year hiatus between 2023 and 2025, I returned full-time to the studio with a shift from representational work to abstraction — paint as its own subject, where surface and gesture carry what image once conveyed.
My work has been exhibited across Australia since 2011, with pieces held in private collections locally and throughout the US and Europe.
