This artwork was exhibited at Ellipsis Gallery in Sydney as a finalist in the Collabo8 Women's Art Prize.

I am interested in the ability of natural forces to act as symbols of the ‘unseen’. Creating this piece was initially an act of contemplation of light, reflections and patterns, using a range of calligraphy brushes to build up the movement and light patterns in the work. I then used a reductive technique to ‘erode’ the surface, wiping and scratching away layers of applied paint. The contrast in mark making creating a tension, mood and history in the piece.
