Another collaboration between esteemed potter Suvira McDonald of Suvira Studio and myself. While I sculpted the piece, Suvira applied his masterful glazing technique. The outcome is a distinctive, dynamic sculpture radiating energy and vitality. This is a very loveable little fellow with a terrifically interesting skin.
Research has shown sculptures to provide higher emotional support than paintings. Unlike paintings which are limited to two dimensions, the sculpture reflects life in three-dimensional space. Sculpture inhabits the space shared by the viewer. Sculptures are tactile, one can touch them and feel their texture, weight and shape. The sculpture has a surprise function that can trigger pleasant psychological arousal resulting in a deeply satisfying and genuinely invigorating aesthetic experience.
