Research has shown that sculptures provide higher emotional support than paintings. Unlike paintings, which are limited to two dimensions, sculptures reflect life in three-dimensional space. Sculpture and viewer share space. Sculptures are tactile; one can touch them and feel their texture, weight, and shape. They surprise and trigger pleasant psychological arousal. They enhance the living area and generate an invigorating aesthetic experience.
