Nothing's Everything

Here is a minimalist ceramic sculpture that plays with the presence-absence paradox. Its hollow core, perched stance, and bird-like form suggest a playful balance between emptiness and wholeness or negative and positive space.
Research has shown sculptures to provide higher emotional support than paintings. Unlike paintings, which are limited to two dimensions, sculpture reflects life in three-dimensional space. Sculpture inhabits the space shared by the viewer. Sculptures are tactile; one can touch them and feel their texture, weight and shape. The sculpture has a surprising function that can trigger pleasant psychological arousal, resulting in a profoundly satisfying and genuinely invigorating aesthetic experience.
