The design relates to the ancient Greek sculpture of the nymph Peristera. In a myth, Aphrodite and Eros competed in a race, and Peristera aided Aphrodite, resulting in an angry Eros turning Peristera into a dove. White raku clay.
Unlike paintings which are limited to two dimensions, the sculpture reflects life in three-dimensional space. Sculpture inhabits the space shared by the viewer. Sculptures are tactile, one can touch them and feel their texture, weight and shape. The sculpture has a surprise function that can trigger pleasant psychological arousal resulting in a deeply satisfying and genuinely invigorating aesthetic experience.
