Research has shown sculptures to provide higher emotional support than paintings. Unlike paintings, limited to two dimensions, the sculpture reflects life in three-dimensional space. Sculpture and viewer share space. Sculptures are tactile; one can touch them and feel their texture, weight and shape. Sculptures surprise and trigger pleasant psychological arousal. They enhance the living area and generate an invigorating aesthetic experience.
