Schooner is a 92 x 92cm abstract painting on canvas with white painted sides. Schooner can be framed in a contemporary floating oak frame (as per main picture) for an additional $240.
I've used the same theory of contrast in this painting as I have in my 'Memory' and 'Completeness of Imperfection' series. Schooner however is a bit of a rogue painting, a little experimental and unique in it's outcome. I really enjoyed playing with unusual textures and then balancing the overall composition with expressive sweeping strokes. Schooner is very textured and earthy. Loving this one.
My partner insisted it be called Schooner, says it reminds him of boats and masts, not convinced there aren't aspects that remind him more of his favourite brew?
The colours in Schooner are a range of greys and browns, with a touch of black oil pastel and deep gold which adds a contrasting reflective element. This style pairs beautifully with a natural Oak frame (as mentioned this can be arranged for an additional fee).
