Flowers in the City

Flowers in the city is a new painting from Stephanie's Abundance series.

'I hope to convey a sense of lightness and joy through the use of colour and expressive brush work. Flowers in the city reminds me to be mindful of the beauty that can be found in any moment, any environment. It may only be a stream of sunlight, or a touch of colour but we can cultivate a positive mindset from recognising the gifts that are present in every moment.'

Flowers in the city is a combination of yellow, pink, coral, blue and green. She's painted on a quality stretched canvas with 3.8cm sides. Stephanie grew up in the Country areas of the New South Wales Central Coast and moved to the Gold Coast in 1997 to be closer to her family. Daughter of political cartoonist Larry Pickering and one of eleven children, she enjoyed a colourful and interesting childhood. With a background in graphic design she was a partner in 'Studio Otto Illustration and Design' for 12 years before deciding to devote her time fully to painting in 2007. Solo Exhibition venues include Gold Coast 'Home of the Arts', Bundall, Doggett Street Studio, and Newstead Brisbane.
